About this job

The Sales Executive runs identification, development, and closing of new sales and partner relationships in Orlando for Pulptown, our digital publication and community. You will work to build an extensive network across Orlando, both in person and through digital research and outreach methods. Working closely with our local team, you’ll develop the local strategy for how we find new customers and partners to support our work. Along the way, you'll be a thought partner in designing a new model for the business of local news and information.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing leads and relationships in a community, and meeting sales quotas. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with customers, working with our local, marketing, and creative teams. First-year goals

  • Hit total sales goal of $500,000 over next 12 months
  • Develop at least 12 new partner relationships
  • Collaborate with our local team to sell new products being developed, including major events, audio content, and video series

 

Responsibilities

  • Build new local relationships with potential clients
  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
  • Contact potential clients through cold calls and emails
  • Present our company to potential clients
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Work with our Creative team to develop client proposals
  • Present proposals to clients and close deals
  • Report to the Head of Revenue regularly on lead development and sales progress
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans

 

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Familiarity with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentation
